Data License Agreement

Introduction

This Data License Agreement ("DLA") governs your use of data, content, and materials provided with or generated by our self-hosted enterprise software. By using our software, you agree to the terms of this DLA.

2. Definitions

Licensed Data

All data, databases, content, documentation, and materials provided with the software.

User Data

Data created, uploaded, or generated by you using the software.

Derivative Data

Data created by modifying or transforming Licensed Data.

3. License Grant

3.1 Licensed Data

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Licensed Data solely in connection with your authorized use of the software, subject to the terms of your software license agreement.

3.2 User Data Ownership

You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your User Data. As self-hosted software, your data remains on your infrastructure under your complete control.

4. Data Usage Rights

You may:

Access, use, and modify your User Data
Create backups and copies for disaster recovery
Export your data in standard formats
Share data within your organization

5. Data Restrictions

You may not:

Redistribute or resell Licensed Data to third parties
Use Licensed Data to create competing products
Remove or obscure proprietary notices
Use data in violation of applicable laws

6. Data Security and Privacy

You are responsible for:

  • Implementing appropriate security measures for your data
  • Controlling access to your self-hosted instance
  • Complying with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Securing backups and exports
  • Managing user permissions and access controls

7. Data Processing and Analytics

7.1 On-Premise Processing

All data processing occurs on your infrastructure. We do not have access to your User Data unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., for support purposes).

7.2 Anonymous Usage Analytics

If enabled, the software may collect anonymous usage statistics to help improve the product. This can be disabled in settings. No personally identifiable information or User Data is included in analytics.

8. Data Portability

You have the right to:

Export all User Data in machine-readable formats
Migrate data to other systems
Request assistance with data migration (available with Enterprise support)

10. Compliance and Certifications

Our software is designed to help you comply with:

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
HIPAA (Healthcare data)
SOC 2 Type II requirements
ISO 27001 standards
